With a jumping index higher than most international stallions,here we find a stallion who is bred in the purple and is proving himself to be one of the best young stallions in Ireland. As a 4 year old, silvano topped the Irish Showjumping rankings, achieving the highest points of any 4 yr old in that year. He went on to compete lightly as a five year old due to stud commitments, nevertheless he managed to win or place in many important classes including Cavan Equestrian Centre spring finals, and also the Cavan Classic, the biggest class for 5 yr olds in Ireland. He even won the qualifier for the final, 2 weeks back in work!
Silvano was fully approved by the Irish Horse Board in 2004, following a magnificent display of jumping by him in the winter final inspection. However, with very bad luck, he had a most serious injury when fracturing his pedal bone 2 days after being approved. This sidelined him for 2 years, and he has only recommenced his career. He is in Holland with Kristian Johannesson where he has competed successfully during the winter season. To Date since his return to competition Silvano has represented us very well abroad, having won and placed several times, including at the international Veendam show. With his first crop born in 2003, Silvano's first 3 yr olds have shown exceptional talent already. They are proving easy to handle, quiet, trainable straightforward types who enjoy working and enjoy people. They all possess great movement, are athletic and have fantastic temperaments. 2 went forward for the elite loosejumping in Cavan Equestrian Centre, where they both qualified for the finals and one of these, a gelding belonging to Natasha Salmon from Eyrecourt, was placed. He went on to be sold to a well known producer of quality youngsters, and international trainer, Ralph Conroy, who intends to produce him under saddle as a 4 year old.
Another youngster who has been in the ribbons all of 2006 is Lynn and Stephen Cairnduff's Carnside Hoity Toity, who has claimed almost all 2yr old classes in Northern Ireland in 2006, including winning the championship and supreme at Cloghervalley, winner and reserve champion Castlewellan, Res Champion at Balmoral! She has managed to beat the top champion mares in her group from all over Ireland on several occasions.

Silvano is by Corland,an international jumping stallion, who is by the world renowned Cor de la Bryere,now ranked 18th in the world breeding rankings. Corlands dam is from one of the most famous mare lines in Holstein, beginning with retina, who won the Hamburg derby twice.
A top pedigree with a sire line of the highest quality stallions. Corland’s dam is one of the best Holstein breeding lines: number 104 A. Out of this direct line is Retina, who won the Hamburg Derby twice.
His international career was very successful. Corland has placed 4th in the Grand Prix of Oslo, 6th in the Grand Prix in Helsinki, 5th in the Grand Prix in Bordeaux, 4th in the Grand Prix in Den Bosch, 2nd in the Sires of the World competition in Lanaken, 5th in the Grand Prix in Maastricht, 7th in the Grand Prix in Zuidlaren, 7th in the Grand Prix in La Baule, 2nd in the Grand Prix in Rotterdam, Champion of the Benelux in The Hague, 7th in the Grand Prix in Calgary and 7th in the World Cup in Verona.
At the European Championship of 2001, Corland proved to belong in the category of the best in the world. He won both qualifiers and had the best results of the Nation’s competition and had the fastest clear round in the qualifying speed class. In the finals, he finished in 9th place. Corland jumped convincingly over the heavy courses and showed what he is capable of.
His progeny perform well. His sons, Pacific, Sir Corland and Santa Cruz, were approved and Champions of their Stallion Tests; his daughter VDL Pendence had the highest EPTM (mare test) of 2001 with 87.5 points; his son Cor de Son won the World Championship in Lanaken for 5-years old jumpers; his daughter Universe Miss was Dutch Filly Champion and daughter HBC Dancing Queen was Dutch Champion of the 6-years old jump horses. Corlanda FZ won a big championship for 4-years old horses in Italy and Relance became 4th in the West Coast Championship of the 7 & 8 years old jumpers of the USA. Daughter VIP was first at the NAWPN Top Ten for free jumping in the USA.
Also at International level his offspring are breaking through and are winning several classes: Pracht S won two Grand Prix in the USA and daughter Marlo won the Grand Prix of Vermont. Santa Cruz VDL became reserve Champion at the Open Scandinavian Championship for 6-years old horses, Broere VDL Pacific is one of the most winning young horses at the International Horse Shows in Europe and also VDL Rocksina, Picasso, Sancho, Sir Corland, Senator VDL and Oliene were winning and placed highly several times.
Jumping Index: 141. Corland has proven, by his own performance, and with that of his progeny to be a treasure for the breeding community.
Silvano's dam Ganna, is herself a Prestatie Predicate mare and from a line of Prestatie Preferent mares. This is the top award a mare can receive in Holland! We also find another famous stallion, the Irish TB stallion Cottage Son, in the pedigree of his dam.
